About the Multnomah County Chapter

The Multnomah Chapter of OSU Extension Service Master Gardeners has been part of the community for 25 years.  We are a group dedicated to community educational outreach of home horticulture practices using research based information including sustainable gardening methods.  Our membership consists of over 200 committed, trained, community service garden educators.  We serve the community by staffing phone clinics where home gardeners can call with gardening problems and find possible solutions.  This service is also available throughout the county at farmers’ markets, the International Rose Test Garden, Pittock Mansion, the Rhododendron Garden, the Portland Nursery Apple Festival and many other venues and events. In addition, we run a Community Demonstration Garden in SE Portland.

We have monthly meetings, with part of the meetings featuring guest speakers on a variety of topics, and business topics for the chapter as the other part. Our meetings are the second Tuesday of every month and are held at Mt Tabor Presbyterian Church, 5441 SE Belmont, Portland. Meetings begin at 7:00 pm and are free and open to the public.
